Playmates Day Care Center:

Our YMCA is the area's largest provider of childcare services licensed by NYS Office of Children & Family Services. We offer a positive, nurturing environment for children ages 6 wks to 5 yrs old, weekdays 6:30am-5:30pm.

Our state-of-the-art day care center features separate areas for each age group, a separate secure entrance, and a colorful, child-centered design for their activities.

Our qualified teachers are educated in early childhood curriculum, certified in CPR/AED & First Aid. All staff have experience working with young children & must participate in on-going staff training & development.

Our safe, healthy environment with age appropriate activities promotes educational, emotional, social and physical growth & development. The value of play, social interaction & positive self-esteem is reinforced with small group learning centers, music, literacy, & games.

We include weekly swim & gym classes taught by certified staff, daily play time on our playground and active, outdoor play (weather permitting). We offer field trips, guest speakers, special events & various themes. We follow a healthy food program monitored by CACFP offering each child a healthy well balanced diet.

FMCC Playmates Day Care:

Fulton County YMCA in conjunction with Fulton-Montgomery Community College offers a licensed day care program on the college campus. It operates in a separate building from 7:30am to 5:00pm & follows the college calendar.

Childcare is available for children ages 18 months to five years. The program emphasizes values, socialization & developing self-esteem. Our program focuses on building the child’s spirit, mind & body and incorporates age appropriate activity centers. Special features also include access to the gymnasium and a newly renovated playground.

School Age Child Care (SACC):

The Y is the largest provider of before & after school childcare programs in Fulton County. We serve Gloversville, Johnstown & Mayfield School Districts.

Our Before School program serves all Johnstown Elementary Schools at the YMCA . Bussing to school is provided by the district. We operate a before school program on site at Mayfield Elementary. All Gloversville elementary schools are served at 2 sites: Boulevard & Kingsborough Elementary Schools.

After School programs operate from school dismissal until the program closes. Please check with the Y for specific site hours. Our YMCA site serves all Johnstown Elementary Schools. Bussing is provided to the Y. Gloversville & Mayfield School Districts after school program sites are located in their elementary schools.

Program activities include homework time, daily snack, arts & crafts, games, sports, outdoor play (weather permitting), special events, community learning projects & much more fun! Our program is licensed through NYS Office of Children & Family Services.

Special Days (Grades K-6):

Children enjoy a day full of supervised fun at the YMCA when school is out with arts & crafts, swimming, indoor & outdoor sports, games, daily themes & more! The program operates 7:00am-5:30pm. Pre-registration required two days in advance- same day registration only accepted if space is available & a $20 surcharge will be added. Special days:  What your child needs to bring each day.
