AQUATICS PARENT-CHILD PROGRAM (Ages 6-36 months with parent/guardian) The primary objective in these levels is to get both parent and children comfortable in the water. Classes are 30 minutes. PRESCHOOL (Ages 3-5) This is typically a child’s first experience in the water without parental assistance. Children are grouped by ability level within this age group. Classes are 30 minutes in length. Preschool levels are Pike, Eel, Ray & Starfish. YOUTH (Ages 5-14) Children are grouped by ability level and taught personal growth, personal safety, stroke skills, rescue skills, sports and games. Classes are 45 minutes in length. Levels include Polliwog, Guppy, Minnow, Fish, Flying Fish & Shark. PRIVATE SWIM LESSONS These lessons are available by appointment. Contact the Aquatics Director to schedule. Lessons run 30 minutes and are scheduled based upon availability of pool time and instructor. HOME SCHOOL LESSONS (Ages 3-17) Based on ability, individuals are assigned to the appropriate level. FREE to individuals with Family memberships. TEEN & ADULT LESSONS (Ages 15 &up) It is never too late to swim or improve your strokes and skills. Whether you are just beginning to learn or need some coaching to take you to the next level, this program is for you. LIFEGUARD CERTIFCATION (Ages 15&up) American Red Cross lifeguarding course. Students must pass a skills test prior to the course. Upon successful completion partici-pants receive their lifeguarding cer-tification. AQUA-ROBICS (Age 14&over) A great exercise pro-gram using water resistance to develop muscle tone, flexibility, cardiovascular fitness and overall well being. Water decreases pressure on your joints while getting a stimulating workout. Swimming skills are not required. FREE for members. AQUA-YOGA (Age 14&over) Enjoy a yoga workout using water resistance. No swimming skills are required. FREE for members. DEVELOPMENTAL SWIM TEAM  (Ages 6-18) For swimmers not ready for competition or want to prepare to join the Flying Fish team. SENIOR AQUATIC FITNESS (Ages 62&up) Designed for active older adults. Exercises include range of motion, strengthening, balance, coordination, low aerobic and low impact workout. Everyone works at their own pace and no swimming skills are required. FREE for mem-bers. FLYING FISH SWIM TEAM (Ages 6-18) Our Flying Fish Swim teams swims in the North Country League and offers a winter and summer season. We compete against both YMCA & USA teams in the northeast at all levels from beginner to advanced. Swimmers must be YMCA members. Seasons run October to March and June & July.
